Mama Drama

From Mama:
I think Simone is upset. Maybe his dear friends can help me understand why...

Earlier this week, he overheard a certain female bun telling one of his friends how good snap peas are. He's been begging for snap peas ever since! So I gave him one tonight, and he tasted it. He seemed to want more, but refused to come out of his cage for it. When I put my hands in his cage to nudge him, he nipped me. I tried to groom him, and he nipped some more (fine, since he's shedding badly and I tend to pull tufts of unattached hair from his butt so I deserved a good nipping). When I put the snap pea in front of him, he nudged it away with his face. Then he did the bunny flop.

Simone doesn't act sick - he still ate his greens and hay. He didn't outright reject the snap pea, so I doubt it's the food I offered him, but maybe he is angry at me?

UH OH. It's cause I ate one of his papaya tablets today, isn't it?
*shakes head*

Is he angry with me again? Oh bother, I guess I'm just not a good girlfriend bun. It’s probably me Simone’s mom and not you. I didn’t tell him about snap peas before.

Or did he eat too many new types of food? One time mom gave us green bell peppers and we’d never eaten green bell peppers and both Orlando and I had upset tummies for a night. Now we eat them all of the time because we love them and they are super juicy.

I hope he’s up and hopping again soon. I’ve been rather spoiled with lots of pictures lately. Please give him a nose kiss for me

You could be right about the new foods, Fiona Bun. After all, he has tried papaya tablets earlier so maybe it is all overwhelming to him. I do try to give small amounts.

Sweetie, Simone has never been angry with you - a tad bit insecure at moments, but never angry. :) Anyway, he did learn about the snap peas from you. Oh well, I will definitely give him nose kisses from you. That will cheer him up!

You know what else it could be? He could just be grumpy about all the shedding. Poor little guy must be inhaling fur right now.

Mom thinks he's protecting his cage from the pug who might be more interested in him now.

Fiona does that sometimes. she won't come out of the cage especially just after mom cleans it. She hates it when mom cleans up the cage.

D-d-did you say, GIRLFRIEND? Does that mean you are? You're my girl! Fi is my girl!

Has Simone been "fixed"?
I know that before we had Dexter "fixed" he started acting sort of like that, kinda moody and god forbid you reached into his cage, he'd come flying out with his little teeth ready to clamp down on whatever he could grab.
Or maybe he was just having an off day.

Don't hit your head on the ceiling again, ya big fluff.

Remi's Mom:I think it's the new food, and possibly the hay-eating dog. I read (I can't remember which site) that peas can be a gassy food, plus it being new, so he might like it.. but just get a tummy ache from it? Probably a combination of things.

Fixed? HRMPH! It was fine before they messed with it.

I hope Dexter doesn't bite you anymore, JueDee. Except when you try to take fabric away from him.

Thanks, Fiona. I managed to avoid that this time. Say, are you and Orlando "fixed?"

Good info, Remi. Now I know to only eat snap peas in small quantities.

Um, is that a problem? Does this mean you won't be my boybun any more?

I just asked because... well, I'd look pretty dumb talking about being fixed and then find out my special lady isn't fixed. Hrmph. Cause if you aren't fixed, maybe I can get Mama to reverse the operation! But if you are then, well we are fine as we are.

Did that make any sense?

AW,*thinking about the offspring Simone and Fiona would have*
Trust me Simone, those boy bun hormones are no joke.
Once the hormones kicked in, I thought Dexter had contracted rabies or something.
Now he's back to being the sweet, loveable guy he was when we first got him.

Oh, ok. Both Lando and I are fixed. Mom said she didn't want any baby accidents, pee marks, or ankle nipping, whatever that means.

I really like your blog Simone. I was surfing the search engines for rabbit related websites using the keyword rabbit cage and found your awesome page with the title this post. I am looking for ideas on how to improve my own site using different keywords and was amazed how easy it was to find your site using the keyword rabbit cage. Perhaps we could do a link exchange at some point. Anyway, thanks for your time and I’m glad I found your site.
